Nama Power and Water Procurement Company Launches Tender For Consultancy Services For 3 GW Solar 2030 IPP Projects In Oman

Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (PWP) has issued a new tender seeking financial and commercial consultancy services for the development of three large-scale solar power projects in the Sultanate of Oman. The tender, issued under reference number OPWP/2026/033, forms part of the country’s broader strategy to expand renewable energy generation and support the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

The proposed projects, collectively known as the Solar 2030 Independent Power Producer (IPP) programme, will include three separate solar power plants connected to Oman’s Main Interconnected System (MIS). Each facility will have an installed capacity of 1,000 MW, resulting in a combined generation capacity of 3,000 MW (3 GW). According to PWP, all three projects are targeted to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) by the second quarter of 2030.

To support the successful execution of these projects, PWP is inviting qualified consultancy firms to provide financial and commercial advisory services throughout the procurement and development process. The selected consultant will assist the company in structuring the projects, preparing tender documentation, evaluating bids, and providing commercial and financial guidance to ensure a competitive and transparent procurement process.

The development of these solar projects is expected to play an important role in increasing the share of renewable energy in Oman’s electricity mix. The initiative also reflects the country’s long-term commitment to reducing dependence on conventional energy sources while strengthening energy security and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Interested consultancy firms can obtain the tender documents electronically through the official PWP website. The documents will be available for purchase from 28 July 2026 until 6 August 2026. The tender document fee has been set at OMR 250, excluding Value Added Tax (VAT). However, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) holding a valid Riyada card will be exempt from paying the document fee.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 10 September 2026 at 12:00 PM Oman Time. Bidders are also required to provide a bank guarantee or tender bond equal to at least one percent of the tender value. The guarantee must remain valid for 120 days from the proposal submission deadline.

PWP has advised all interested participants to submit any clarification requests to its procurement department while clearly referencing the tender number. The launch of this consultancy tender represents another significant step in Oman’s renewable energy expansion plans and reinforces the country’s commitment to achieving its clean energy objectives under Oman Vision 2040.
