Exploration firm Blue Star Helium has confirmed that helium production at its Pinon Canyon plant in Las Animas County, Colorado, has stabilised at current production levels.
The company has also delivered its second trailer under the short-term helium with an unnamed US industrial gas company, following its first commercial shipment earlier this month.
Regular trailer exchanges have been scheduled, with replacement trailers filling up immediately upon arrival.
The plant is expected to increase helium output towards full design capacity through a combination of plant debottlenecking, gathering system improvements and additional well development.
As part of the next phase of development, the company is evaluating the potential to deepen existing wells and plans to drill three new wells to tie them into the Pinyon Canyon plant, subject to permit approval.
The Pinon Canyon plant is the site of Blue Star Helium’s Galactica Project, a joint venture with Helium One Global, with each partner holding a 50% stake.
Lorna Blaisse, CEO of Helium One, said the company is pleased to see stable production now supporting regular helium sales and the transition towards cash flow generation.
In July, Blue Star completed the and optimisation phase at its Pinon Canyon plant.
The company also confirmed that its first helium production tube trailer had been sold and left the facility.
