T1 Energy Inc. has signed a contract with independent power producer Clearway Energy Group to supply 641 MW of solar modules manufactured using domestically produced solar cells from the company’s upcoming G2_Austin solar cell facility.
The agreement strengthens T1 Energy’s strategy to expand a traceable, U.S.-based solar supply chain while supporting Clearway’s pipeline of utility-scale renewable energy projects. The modules will be produced using domestic solar cells, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to increasing U.S. manufacturing content in clean energy infrastructure.
T1 said the deal builds on its integrated manufacturing capabilities, leveraging its 5 GW G1_Dallas solar module facility to provide customers with solutions that improve project execution, financing, and supply chain reliability.

He added that growing demand for high-domestic-content solar modules is helping accelerate the development of a “Made in America” solar manufacturing ecosystem.
Clearway said the agreement aligns with its strategy to support domestic manufacturing while ensuring reliable procurement for its expanding renewable energy portfolio.
“Contracts with top-tier manufacturers like T1 help ensure that Clearway can deliver on our ambitious development pipeline with competitive and reliable projects,” said Frances Cook, Vice President of Procurement at Clearway Energy. She noted that the partnership will enable the company to deploy solar projects powered by domestically manufactured cells and modules.
T1 Energy is expanding the domestic content of its solar products amid increasing uncertainty surrounding global trade and tariff policies. The company began construction of its G2_Austin solar cell manufacturing facility in December 2025 and expects the first 2.1 GW production phase to begin manufacturing solar cells in the first quarter of 2027.
Once operational, T1 expects to offer solar modules with more than 60% domestic content in 2027, supporting the growing demand for locally manufactured clean energy components in the U.S. renewable energy market.
