US helium production and liquefaction firm Helix Exploration has announced its Keyes Helium Complex in Oklahoma is producing revenue with tube trailers being filled on a weekly basis as part of an ongoing tolling programme.

The complex was acquired for $11m from Badger Midstream Energy . It has a helium purification and liquefaction capacity of 170 million cubic feet per year, with a raw gas input of 15 million cubic feet per day.

Helix Exploration CEO Bo Sears provided an update on the Rudyard project in Montana too – which – saying it has moved into a “continuous filling cycle”.

Production is currently being processed from three wells – Linda, Weil and Darwin – which are connected to the project’s gathering system and on-site PSA processing plant.

“With a liquefaction facility now operating under Helix’ ownership, the business occupies a uniquely integrated position in the US helium sector that spans the value chain, from reserves in the ground, producing wells, owned drilling equipment for field expansion, and liquefaction infrastructure,” he said. “This is a combination that few independents have ever held, at a time when supply is becoming increasingly constrained.”

Helix aims to meet rising helium demand in the medical imaging, semiconductor, aerospace, and cryogenic markets.
