Suzlon Group has commenced construction of 1,325 MW of wind energy projects in the Ananthapuramu region of Andhra Pradesh, marking a major milestone in its more than two-decade partnership with the state.
The projects are expected to attract approximately ₹10,500 crore in investment and create around 1,600 direct and indirect jobs, supporting Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy and industrial development ambitions.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Nara Lokesh, Minister for HRD, IT, Electronics & Communications and RTG, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder, Suzlon Group, along with senior government officials, industry representatives and Suzlon customers.
Suzlon said it is currently executing approximately 1,600 MW of wind projects in Andhra Pradesh and has catalysed around ₹15,500 crore of investment in the state over the past two decades.
The company’s Ananthapuramu blade manufacturing facility has an annual production capacity of 1,260 MW and currently operates with four production lines following an expansion. The facility supports more than 1,200 direct and indirect green jobs.
Beyond renewable energy manufacturing and project development, Suzlon is also supporting green-skilling initiatives in the state. Through skill development labs in Uravakonda and Vijayawada, the company is training 12,000 young people, including 3,000 women, as part of its green-skilling programme.
Nara Lokesh said the 1,325 MW project milestone reflects growing investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s clean energy policies and investment ecosystem. He added that long-term partnerships with renewable energy companies will be important for accelerating clean energy deployment, attracting investment and creating employment.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman and Co-Founder, Suzlon Group, said the new projects mark another phase in the company’s partnership with Andhra Pradesh and will contribute to the state’s renewable energy capacity and industrial growth.
Ajay Kapur, CEO, Suzlon Group, highlighted the increasing energy requirements associated with Andhra Pradesh’s expanding industrial, technology and artificial intelligence sectors. He said the growth of data centres and new industries will increase demand for clean and reliable power, with integrated renewable energy solutions expected to play a larger role.
The latest project development further strengthens Suzlon’s presence in Andhra Pradesh and supports the state’s efforts to expand renewable energy infrastructure while creating investment and employment opportunities.
