Italian industrial gases firm Cavagna Group (Cavagna) has entered the high-precision gas metering sector through its acquisition of a 51% stake in European technology company Gas Measurement Group (GMG).
The deal will expand the firm’s capabilities across flow control, pressure regulation, and high-precision metering, building its capabilities in the natural gas sector.
The value of the acquisition was not disclosed.
GMG Group includes Flow Meter Group, Flocaltec, Transus Instruments, Global Gas Solutions, Mechatest and GTA, and holds equity interests in Euroloop and Ex-i Flow Measurement.
Cavagna said the stake will create a platform for gas companies and utilities, equipment distributors, system integrators and engineering, procurement and construction contractors across the natural gas value chain.
The Italian firm currently operates across healthcare, compressed gas, LPG, as well as alternative fuel systems.
In July, Cavagna it will adopt Gaslive as the global identity for its healthcare range, which includes solutions for respiratory therapy, oxygen therapy and sleep medicine.
