Founded in 2021, Interlune’s story began 40 years ago, when Apollo 17 geologist Harrison “Jack” Schmitt began studying the potential of lunar helium-3, a helium isotope extremely rare on Earth. Today, Interlune’s objectives are twofold: to harvest natural resources from space for use on Earth and provide infrastructure and services to sustain human presence in space.
Helium-3 is the first resource Interlune plans to harvest on the Moon due to its potential application in quantum computing, as well as opportunities in the energy and medical imaging markets.
