TotalEnergies ENEOS is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Singapore, in collaboration with Tanah Merah Country Club (TMCC), one of the region’s most prestigious golf destinations. This marks TMCC as the first country club in Singapore to be primarily powered by an onsite ground-mounted solar PV system.

The 2.2 MWp PV system, consisting of more than 3,700 solar modules, will generate over 3,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity annually, enough to power approximately 700 four-room HDB flats each year. This project not only delivers significant cost savings for the club but also reduces its carbon footprint by around 1,300 tons of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to planting about 20,000 trees.

As part of a long-term power purchase agreement, TotalEnergies ENEOS will fully fund, install, and operate the solar system. TMCC will benefit from a customized solar solution, paying only for the electricity generated over the next 11 years, with no upfront costs. This partnership underscores TotalEnergies ENEOS’s commitment to driving the sustainable energy transition within the golf sector across the region.

TotalEnergies ENEOS also completed the project safely, achieving 28,600 man-hours of construction without any lost-time injuries. Remarkably, the project was finished two months ahead of schedule.

Ronald Ong, Club President of Tanah Merah Country Club said: “The completion of the solar panel installation at Garden Clubhouse is a pivotal step in our commitment to combating climate change and supporting Singapore’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. This project is a crucial part of our broader ESG strategy at TMCC, reflecting our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable practices into our operations. It also demonstrates our dedication to environmental stewardship for future generations, further solidifying our position as a leading golf and country club in environmental responsibility in the region. In addition, our partnership with TotalEnergies ENEOS has been a rewarding experience. Their efficient approach, timely updates, and ability to deliver ahead of schedule were impressive. We look forward to further sustainable initiatives for our community.”

Antoine DELAFARGUE, VP Solar Distributed Generation at TotalEnergies added, “We are honored to be chosen as TMCC’s energy partner of choice. This partnership underscores our expertise and dedication to supporting customers in their decarbonization journey across various industries and activities. Our collaboration with TMCC further exemplifies our commitment to delivering tailored renewable energy solutions that address both immediate operational needs and long-term sustainability goals. Having completed the project ahead of schedule, it strongly reflects our ability to deliver project with a strong focus on engineering and safety excellence. We are proud to celebrate this project as a key millstone of a long-term partnership with TMCC.“
