Altura Energy, a US helium production and distribution company, has started the infrastructure update programme of its Saddle Horse target in the Pinta South helium field in the Holbrook Basin of Arizona.
The effort will bring two existing helium wells back into production and start work on four more wells. A new pipeline will also be installed to connect the redeveloped wells to the processing plant.
Isolation valves will be installed along the pipeline, and a pressure monitoring system will be added to the supervisory control and data acquisition.
Altura Energy said the two producing wells previously flowed 123 and 118 thousand cubic feet of helium per day, respectively, with helium concentrations between 5% to 8%.
