Southeast Asia is a market of great potential but substantial challenges for the industrial gases sector – and for Messer.

The assessment was made by Anthony Grandpierre, Chief Operating Officer for the ASEAN region at the privately held German industrial gas major Messer, in his keynote address to gasworld’s Asia-Pacific Industrial Gas Conference 2025 in Bangkok.

The growth prospects are clear, said Grandpierre, with Asia continuing to be one of the fastest-growing regions in the world. But the challenges that attach also take many forms, from safety to the impact of geopolitics and more.
