Arctech Brings Next-Generation Solar Solutions To Solar&Storage Live Africa 2025, Boosting Africa’s Renewable Energy Sector

Arctech, the world’s leading provider of solar tracking, racking, and energy storage solutions, recently concluded its participation in the Solar&Storage Live Africa 2025 event, which took place from March 25 to 27 in Johannesburg, South Africa. At the exhibition, Arctech showcased three of its flagship products designed to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in the region. The first of these products is the SkyLine II, a 1P Single-Axis Tracker specifically engineered to withstand the extreme climates of Africa.

This advanced tracker features a modular design and an AI-powered tracking algorithm, which allows for an increase in energy yield by up to 8%, while simultaneously reducing project costs. Its robust torque tube design and synchronous multi-point mechanism ensure that the tracker remains stable even in high-wind and high-temperature conditions. SkyLine II has already been deployed globally in nearly 30GW of projects, highlighting its reliability and adaptability.

The second product Arctech highlighted was the StarShine I, an intelligent PV cleaning robot designed for dusty environments. The StarShine I operates without water, using an AI-driven path optimization system to reduce operational costs and improve energy output. This robot is compatible with Arctech’s solar trackers through SCADA integration, making it an effective solution for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of solar projects, ensuring that solar panels consistently perform at optimal levels.

Finally, Arctech presented the ArcBank, an energy storage system that aims to address Africa’s power supply challenges. ArcBank is equipped with in-house developed power conversion systems (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), and energy management systems (EMS), making it an ideal solution for large industrial plants, data centers, and new energy power stations. As a key component of Arctech’s Green Power+ platform, ArcBank plays a significant role in optimizing energy storage for various applications across the continent.

During the event, Vivian Fang, the Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region at Arctech, delivered a keynote speech titled “Tackling Africa’s Energy Challenges and Arctech’s Role in Shaping the Future of Renewable Energy.” In her address, Vivian focused on the increasing demand in Africa for reliable, efficient, and resilient solar energy solutions, particularly in response to ongoing challenges such as South Africa’s load shedding and broader energy access issues across Sub-Saharan Africa. She emphasized that Africa’s energy transformation requires solutions that are not only cost-effective but also culturally and environmentally adaptive. Vivian stressed the importance of collaboration with local stakeholders to build resilient energy ecosystems that can empower communities across the continent.

Arctech’s presence at the Solar&Storage Live Africa 2025 event underscores the company’s strong commitment to Africa’s sustainable development. Since entering the MEA market in 2017, Arctech has completed numerous key projects in countries such as Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Namibia, Chad, Congo, Ghana, Malawi, and Comoros.

The company has built a portfolio of more than 10GW in the region and has established local offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. Additionally, Arctech has set up a manufacturing facility in Jeddah, which has an annual capacity of 3GW. With its global supply chain network, Arctech is well-positioned to deliver up to 10GW in the MEA market, further reinforcing its commitment to accelerating the region’s renewable energy growth and contributing to its sustainable development.
