The Border Security Force (BSF) has issued a Notice Inviting e-Tenders (NIT No. 18/SE(Elect)/NIT/SHQ-BMR/ENGG/2024-25) for the installation of a 25 KWp off-grid solar power plant across 13 Border Outposts (BOPs) under the 83 Battalion (now 47 Battalion), BSF Barmer, Gujarat Sector. The project includes the construction of an RCC-framed structure for a dedicated battery room, aimed at enhancing energy self-reliance and resilience in remote border locations.

The estimated cost of the project is ₹4.28 crore, with an earnest money requirement of ₹8.57 lakh. The contract will be awarded on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis, with a project completion timeline of 12 months. Eligible bidders include government-approved contractors from CPWD, MES, BSNL, Railways, state renewable energy entities, and MNRE-authorized OEMs of solar equipment.

The scope of work covers procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of off-grid solar power infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted clean energy supply at critical security installations. This renewable energy deployment aligns with the Government of India’s push to promote sustainable energy solutions in strategic and remote operational zones.

The last date for bid submission is November 5, 2025 (11:00 hrs), and the technical bid will be opened on November 6, 2025. Financial bids will be evaluated subsequently, subject to technical qualification.

This initiative marks a significant step in integrating renewable energy into the nation’s security infrastructure, reducing diesel dependency, and advancing India’s clean energy transition in mission-critical border regions.
