ENERPARC AG Files For Insolvency, Operations Of 5.5 GW Solar Portfolio Continue

ENERPARC AG, one of Europe’s largest independent solar park owners, has filed for insolvency proceedings with the Hamburg Local Court, raising concerns across the European solar energy sector. The company’s Executive Board submitted the petition, following which the court appointed attorney Stefan Denkhaus of Hamburg-based law firm BRL as provisional insolvency administrator on September 7, 2026.

Denkhaus and his team have already started work at the company and are informing employees about the provisional insolvency proceedings. Their immediate priority is to stabilize business operations and support the continued functioning of the company and its group subsidiaries.

Denkhaus said that initial discussions are already underway with ENERPARC’s Executive Board, advisors, and lenders to assess the company’s situation and stabilize its operations. He also noted that insolvency filings by other sister companies could be possible, although it is too early to make a final assessment.

Despite the insolvency filing, ENERPARC’s operations are expected to continue. The company has approximately 5.5 GW of installed solar capacity, including around 3.8 GW currently connected to the grid. Its portfolio includes more than 500 solar parks located in Germany and other markets.

Headquartered in Hamburg, ENERPARC AG employs around 380 people. The company has developed an integrated business model covering the development, construction, and operation of solar power plants, as well as electricity marketing and energy trading.

Over the past 18 years, the ENERPARC Group has established activities across the downstream solar value chain. In addition to its existing solar portfolio, the company is involved in developing electricity storage infrastructure and substations.

The company’s revenue base is supported by its portfolio of solar parks, which generate renewable electricity across Germany and international markets. The ongoing insolvency proceedings will now focus on stabilizing the business while assessing its financial position and the future of the wider ENERPARC Group.
