GRES 2025: Sungrow Brings Together Global Experts To Discuss How Innovation Is Driving A Sustainable Future

Sungrow reaffirmed its commitment to supporting global partners and accelerating the transition to a sustainable future by successfully hosting the Global Renewable Energy Summit (GRES) 2025. The summit was held from April 7 to April 9, 2025, under the theme “Innovation that Inspires Sustainability.” It brought together global experts, industry partners, and key stakeholders to explore the latest developments shaping the future of the renewable energy sector.

Addressing the gathering, Jack Gu, Vice Chairman of Sungrow, highlighted the central role of innovation in the company’s strategy, stating, “Innovation is our DNA. It drives our breakthroughs, inspires our solutions, and defines our future.” During the summit, Sungrow unveiled several major innovations across the solar and energy storage sectors and released a new white paper on grid-forming technologies, reinforcing its leadership in the global clean energy transition.

A major highlight of the summit was the launch of the 1+X 2.0 Modular Inverter, designed for utility-scale applications. This next-generation inverter offers greater modularity compared to previous models, featuring a scalable block design that can be expanded from 800 kW up to 9.6 MW.

The new inverter supports stable operations even at high temperatures up to 50 degrees Celsius without derating. Additionally, it incorporates AI-driven fault detection and advanced grid-forming capabilities, ensuring high performance, maximum availability, and enhanced system reliability to meet the demands of large-scale solar projects.

Sungrow also introduced the PowerStack 255CS, a liquid-cooled energy storage system developed for the commercial and industrial (C&I) markets. The PowerStack 255CS uses advanced 314Ah battery cells and offers flexible energy capacities: 257 kWh for a 2-hour system and 514 kWh for a 4-hour system. It delivers more than 90% round-trip efficiency and has a design life of 20 years.

The system is fully integrated with Power Conversion System (PCS), Energy Management System (EMS), and Battery Management System (BMS) technologies. It is certified under major international safety standards, including UL9540 and NFPA855. Thanks to its robust design, the PowerStack 255CS can be used across various applications such as standalone C&I energy storage systems (ESS), photovoltaic (PV) plus ESS setups, electric vehicle (EV) charger integrations, and microgrids.

In addition to new product launches, Sungrow unveiled its “Stem Cell Grid-Forming Tech 2.0” White Paper during the summit. This latest research emphasizes the company’s advancements in grid-forming technologies, which are crucial for maintaining grid stability as renewable energy penetration increases.

The white paper outlines Sungrow’s approach to building resilient, sustainable, and flexible energy systems capable of meeting future energy demands. Through the Global Renewable Energy Summit 2025, Sungrow once again demonstrated its leadership in driving innovation, promoting collaboration, and inspiring sustainable solutions to help meet the world’s growing energy needs.
