Hassan Allam Construction has reached a key milestone in the development of the New Belbies 220/66/11 kV Substation in Al-Sharqia, Egypt, with the arrival of major substation equipment and the commencement of electrical installation works.
The equipment delivered to the project includes 175 MVA power transformers, Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS), and protection and control systems. The latest progress is expected to move the project towards testing, commissioning, and eventual energization.
The project is being executed on a turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis for the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC). Hassan Allam Construction is responsible for the project’s engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
The New Belbies substation is part of Egypt’s efforts to strengthen its electricity transmission infrastructure and improve grid reliability. The project is expected to support the country’s growing electricity demand and enhance the capacity of its power network.
