ib vogt APAC has started construction of the 99 MWp Luca Solar Power Plant in Ajuy, Iloilo, Philippines, marking another major step in the company’s clean energy expansion in the country.
Once operational, the Luca Solar Power Plant is expected to generate around 158 GWh of clean electricity annually. The project is estimated to provide enough power for approximately 79,000 homes while avoiding nearly 109,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
The project also supports ib vogt APAC’s target of reaching around 500 MW of renewable energy capacity under construction and in operation in the Philippines by the end of 2026.
RCBC and RCBC Capital arranged and financed the transaction, while Pentagreen Capital and British International Investment supported the project’s capital structure.
The company also acknowledged the support of the Provincial Government of Iloilo, the Municipality of Ajuy, the Municipality of Barotac Viejo, and local host communities.
David Ludwig, CEO of ib vogt APAC, said the Luca project doubles the company’s built and under-construction capacity in the Philippines. He added that another larger project is expected to enter construction before the end of the year, further expanding the company’s presence in the country’s growing power market.
