Huasun Energy, a global leader in solar innovation, reached a significant milestone by surpassing 10 GW in total heterojunction (HJT) product shipments by December 2024. Of this, 6 GW was shipped in 2024, including over 1 GW in December alone, highlighting HJT’s increasing importance in advancing solar energy.
Xiaohua (Jimmy) Xu, Chairman and CEO of Huasun, stated “Surpassing 10 GW is a testament to our strategic vision and technological excellence. We are confident in achieving the next 10 GW milestone quickly, harnessing the power of heterojunction to accelerate photovoltaics’ journey to becoming the primary energy source.”
Founded in 2020, Huasun has become a leader in HJT technology, making significant advancements in microcrystalline cells (both single- and double-sided), HBC, copper busbar, and HJT-perovskite tandem innovations. With over 300 patents filed, the company focuses on improving PV efficiency and driving progress in solar energy. Its integrated research, development, and manufacturing model has achieved an average production efficiency of over 26% for HJT solar cells.
Huasun’s manufacturing strength has played a key role in its success. On December 31, 2024, the company’s 20 GW HJT Monocrystalline Silicon Smart Factory (Phase 1) in Yinchuan, China, produced its first silicon rod, completing the HJT supply chain from silicon ingot to module. With production bases in Xuancheng, Dali, Hefei, Wuxi, and Yinchuan, Huasun is steadily expanding the use of HJT technology at scale.
In 2024, Huasun won tenders exceeding 10 GW from major Chinese state-owned enterprises like China Huaneng, China Green Development, and PowerChina. Today, its solar products are used in over 60 countries across Europe, Asia, and other regions, supporting the shift to a sustainable, low-carbon world.
