Huasun-Powered 100 MW Agrivoltaic Project in China’s Gaomi Achieves Grid Connection

The 100 MW agrivoltaic integrated power project in Gaomi, located in eastern China’s Shandong Province, has recently been successfully connected to the grid and commenced power generation. The project is supported by Huasun Energy, a global leader in heterojunction (HJT) solar technology.

Combining solar power generation with modern agriculture, the project is expected to generate 140 million kWh of electricity annually, reduce carbon emissions by approximately 100,000 tons, and contribute around RMB 6.5 million in annual tax revenue—delivering both environmental and economic benefits to the region.

As a model agrivoltaics (agri-PV) project in Gaomi City, the 100 MW integrated solar-agriculture plant is located in Damoujia Town and was constructed in two phases, completed in October 2023 and October 2024.Huasun served as the core module provider, supplying high- performance G12 Himalaya HJT bifacial solar modules with a mass production power output of 730 W, efficiency of 23.5%, and bifaciality of 95%. These modules feature advanced encapsulation and light-mconversion film technologies, ensuring stable performance in harsh conditions while filtering harmful UV rays to enhance energy output.

Remarkably, both phases were completed with guaranteed quality of the HJT solar panels by Huasun within just one month from order placement to final delivery.

Huasun continues to advance solar technology, particularly in the vertical photovoltaic (PV) sector. Its newly launched Kunlun series HJT modules deliver ultra-high bifaciality, outstanding efficiency, and strong power output. Optimized for vertical installation, these modules achieve over 95% land-use efficiency while offering added environmental benefits such as wind protection, sand prevention, and improved soil quality.

The Gaomi project exemplifies how renewable energy can be seamlessly integrated into rural development, supporting China’s dual-carbon goals and the modernization of agriculture. It also highlights the growing significance of HJT and vertical PV technologies in shaping the future of sustainable farming.
