IB Solar Signs MoU with German Companies to Establish Centre of Excellence for Solar Technology and R&D in Greater Noida

IB Solar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with leading German companies centrotherm international AG, RENA Technologies GmbH and ISC Konstanz to establish a Centre of Excellence at YEIDA, Greater Noida, India. The agreement was signed at the Bharat RE Summit, organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), with a focus on technology, research and development (R&D), and skill development.

The collaboration aims to strengthen India’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem through advanced research, technological innovation, knowledge exchange and skill development. By bringing together Indian manufacturing expertise and German technological excellence, the initiative seeks to support the development of advanced solar technologies and strengthen indigenous manufacturing capabilities.

The proposed Centre of Excellence will serve as a platform for collaborative research, technology development and innovation. It will focus on enhancing manufacturing processes, improving product efficiency, developing advanced solar technologies and facilitating knowledge sharing between industry and research institutions.

A key objective of the initiative is to bridge the gap between research and industrial applications, creating new opportunities for technological advancement and strengthening the competitiveness of India’s renewable energy manufacturing sector on the global stage.

The collaboration has been supported by the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI), Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e. V. (BSW), and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. These organisations have contributed to fostering Indo-German cooperation and bringing together industry stakeholders and research institutions to advance solar manufacturing and R&D.

IB Solar acknowledged the valuable support, guidance and collaborative efforts of these organisations in facilitating the partnership and strengthening cooperation between India and Germany in the renewable energy sector.

Through this initiative, IB Solar and its German partners aim to transform research into industrial capabilities, accelerate innovation and contribute to building a stronger, more self-reliant renewable energy ecosystem in India. The proposed Centre of Excellence represents a significant step towards bringing advanced international technology to India and strengthening the country’s solar manufacturing capabilities.
