Kabra Extrusiontechnik Commissioned 10 MW/20 MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Phalodi, Rajasthan

A new 10 MW/20 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) has been successfully commissioned in Phalodi, Rajasthan, by Kabra Extrusiontechnik, marking a step forward in strengthening the region’s power infrastructure and supporting renewable energy integration.

The battery storage project has been developed in accordance with the requirements of the state utility. The facility has completed all major stages, including design, execution, testing, and commissioning, while meeting the prescribed technical specifications and performance benchmarks.

The operational BESS is expected to support more efficient energy management by storing electricity when it is available and making it accessible when required. The system will also help improve grid stability and provide greater flexibility in managing variations in power demand and supply.

With Rajasthan witnessing rapid growth in renewable energy capacity, energy storage is becoming increasingly important for balancing intermittent generation from solar and wind projects. The 10 MW/20 MWh system can contribute to better utilization of renewable power and support the smooth integration of clean energy into the existing electricity network.

The commissioning of the project highlights the growing role of battery storage in India’s evolving power sector. It is expected to enhance power management capabilities in the region while supporting grid reliability and the transition towards a more sustainable energy system.
