LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 Modules Selected by Elecnor for Landmark 60 MW Solar Project in the Dominican Republic

LONGi, a global leader in solar technology, has been selected by Spain’s Elecnor Group to supply its newest Hi-MO 9 modules for a 60 MW ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) project in the Dominican Republic. The project is being developed for Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina (EGE Haina), the country’s largest electricity generation company and a major public-private enterprise in the Caribbean.

This marks LONGi’s first Hi-MO 9 deployment in the Dominican Republic, a milestone that highlights the module’s superior efficiency and performance in meeting the project’s energy generation and sustainability goals.

The announcement follows two recent recognitions of LONGi’s leadership in solar module technology. The company was named “Overall Highest Achiever” by the Renewable Energy Test Center (RETC) in its 2025 PV Module Index Report, an honor awarded for the seventh consecutive year. The designation reflects LONGi’s consistent excellence in reliability, performance, and manufacturing quality.

Additionally, LONGi earned “Top Performer” status in the 2025 PV Module Reliability Scorecard by Kiwa PVEL. The company excelled in critical testing areas including Thermal Cycling (TC), Mechanical Stress Sequence (MSS), Potential Induced Degradation (PID), Light-Induced Degradation and LETID, and PAN file performance simulation. This marks the eighth time LONGi has received PVEL’s certification, reinforcing its reputation for delivering highly reliable and durable PV modules.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Elecnor and EGE Haina on this groundbreaking project in the Dominican Republic,” said David Sanchez, General Manager Iberia of LONGi Solar Europe. “As a global leader known for our focus on Back Contact technology, particularly N-type HPBC cells, the deployment of our new Hi-MO 9 modules in this capacity signifies our commitment to providing advanced, high-performance solar solutions that accelerate the global energy transition. Our modules, which have been awarded “Highest Achiever and Top Performer” status by independent bodies such as RTEC and Kiwa PVEL, are a proof of LONGi’s products and technology reliability. This collaboration will set a new benchmark for solar energy in the Caribbean.”
