Chairman and Managing Director Gurdeep Singh stated that the company is positioning itself to play a larger role in India’s clean energy transition while maintaining financial discipline and operational efficiency.

During the year, NGEL also expanded into emerging clean energy technologies. The company secured an 80 MW/320 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project through competitive bidding and initiated tenders for 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery projects. It also continued development of its Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka in Andhra Pradesh and secured an award under the SECI Green Ammonia programme.

The report noted that NGEL strengthened its corporate structure by incorporating two new subsidiaries during FY2025-26, taking its portfolio to six subsidiaries and four joint ventures as of March 31, 2026.

The company also highlighted that it was accorded Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) status during the year, reflecting its growing scale and strategic importance in India’s renewable energy sector.

Looking ahead, NGEL said it would continue investing in renewable generation, energy storage, green hydrogen and digital technologies to support India’s energy transition while maintaining a focus on sustainability, governance and long-term shareholder value.
