NTPC Reports 11% Rise in Q1 FY26 Consolidated Profit Despite Dip in Power Generation

NTPC Ltd., India’s largest power generator with an installed capacity of around 83 GW, announced its unaudited financial results for Q1 FY26 on 29 July 2025. The NTPC Group generated approximately 110 billion units, slightly down from 114 billion units in Q1 FY25.

Standalone generation was 91 billion units, compared to 98 billion units a year earlier. Coal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor of 75.16%, outperforming the national average of 67.67%. Standalone income was ₹43,333 crore with a PAT of ₹4,775 crore, up 6%. Consolidated income was ₹47,821 crore, and PAT rose 11% to ₹6,108 crore. The company continues to focus on expanding its renewable energy portfolio, in line with its long-term sustainability and energy transition goals.
