The Philippines has awarded more than 10.19 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity under the fourth round of its Green Energy Auction Program (GEA-4). The Department of Energy announced that 123 winning bidders will deliver these projects between 2026 and 2029. The awarded projects cover a range of technologies, including ground-mounted solar, roof-mounted solar, floating solar, onshore wind, and integrated renewable energy with energy storage systems.

Among the total awarded capacity, ground-mounted solar projects account for 4,179.09 MW, spread across the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao grids. Floating solar projects have been allocated 2,284 MW, with large developments planned in Laguna, Pampanga, and Negros. Onshore wind projects contribute another 2,518.29 MW, with new installations expected in Quezon, Sorsogon, and various Visayas provinces.

In addition, integrated renewable energy projects with storage systems received 1,189.29 MW, while roof-mounted solar projects added 24.82 MW. The Department of Energy has directed all winning bidders to submit essential compliance documents such as affidavits of undertaking, performance bonds, system impact studies, and proof of financial obligations by December 6, 2025. This large-scale auction reflects the Philippines’ commitment to expand renewable energy generation and strengthen energy security over the next decade.
