Samaiden Group Bhd has announced that its sub-subsidiary, Legasi Suria Selatan Sdn Bhd (LSSSB), has signed a solar power purchase agreement (SPPA) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd in Malaysia. The agreement is part of the large-scale solar Petra 5+ programme, under which LSSSB will develop and operate a solar photovoltaic energy-generating facility. LSSSB is a special-purpose vehicle created specifically for this project and is 70% owned by Samaiden Sdn Bhd, which itself is wholly owned by Samaiden Group.

The planned solar facility will have a capacity of 99.99 MWac and will be located in Segamat, Johor. According to the company’s filing with Bursa Malaysia, LSSSB will handle the design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the plant.

The project is expected to reach commercial operation on February 29, 2028, marking a significant step in Samaiden Group’s renewable energy expansion in Malaysia. This initiative aligns with the country’s push towards large-scale solar development and sustainable energy solutions.
