Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) reported strong financial growth in 2025, supported by higher returns from its maturing investments and continued expansion in global markets. According to its annual financial report released on August 17, 2026, PIF’s revenue increased 9% year-on-year to $120 billion, while net profit more than doubled to $17 billion.
The sovereign wealth fund maintained assets under management of more than $900 billion, a significant increase from $530 billion in 2021 and $150 billion in 2015. Since 2017, PIF has generated an annualized total shareholder return of 5.8%. Higher dividends from portfolio companies and strong returns from financial investments supported its 2025 performance, despite valuation pressures affecting some assets amid global market changes.
PIF remains a key financial engine of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification strategy. In 2025, its activities contributed 11% of the country’s total real non-oil GDP. Between 2021 and 2025, the fund deployed more than $199 billion in domestic investments and contributed over $342 billion to the Kingdom’s non-oil economy.
During 2025, PIF launched several major domestic initiatives, including HUMAIN, focused on strengthening Saudi Arabia’s artificial intelligence capabilities, and the Expo 2030 Riyadh Company, which will develop and manage facilities for the upcoming global event.
PIF also expanded its international presence, with international investments rising 12%. The fund opened new offices in Paris, Beijing and Shanghai, adding to its existing locations in London, New York and Hong Kong. It also established strategic investment partnerships with major global financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Macquarie Asset Management and SACE.
The fund accelerated its digital transformation during the year by launching 100 new digital applications and implementing 43 artificial intelligence solutions to improve operational efficiency and investment decisions.
With its 2021–2025 strategy cycle now complete, PIF has begun its next strategic phase for 2026–2030. The new framework will focus on building competitive domestic economic ecosystems while pursuing high-conviction global opportunities in areas including artificial intelligence, energy transition, advanced manufacturing, sports and entertainment.
