Sungrow has introduced its PowerHarbor all-in-one residential energy storage system (ESS) to the Benelux market at an event in Amsterdam, bringing together around 150 installers, distribution partners and virtual power plant (VPP) integrators.
The “Master Home Energy Dynamics” event focused on changing residential energy requirements across Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, including the growing role of self-consumption, dynamic electricity tariffs and energy flexibility.
In the Netherlands, the planned end of the country’s net-metering scheme from January 1, 2027 is expected to increase the value of using solar electricity directly or storing it for later consumption.
Sungrow said these market developments are shifting the focus for households from simply generating more solar electricity to managing when electricity is consumed, stored or exported.
PowerHarbor Combines Solar, Storage and Energy Management
PowerHarbor was presented in the Benelux market for the first time at the event. The all-in-one residential ESS integrates an inverter, battery, backup functionality and energy management system.
The system supports up to 160% PV-to-battery charging, allowing the battery to capture more solar generation during peak production periods. It also features a 0.66P discharge rate to respond to household demand and VPP dispatch requirements.
PowerHarbor supports up to 150% three-phase unbalanced output, enabling households with appliances such as heat pumps and EV chargers to manage uneven power demand across phases.
The system also includes iHomeManager Mini, an AI-based energy management solution. Its AI Mode uses weather forecasts, household consumption patterns and dynamic electricity tariffs to determine when energy should be stored, retained or discharged.
Plug-and-Play Design Targets Faster Installation
Sungrow said PowerHarbor has been designed to simplify installation for installers through a modular, plug-and-play architecture.
The system uses direct module connections without cables, while external wiring terminals are positioned on the right side of the unit. Its 5-in-1 EnergyBridge is designed to occupy less space than conventional gateways and can be installed inside a standard distribution box.
With a depth of 25.5 cm, the system can also be installed in narrow corridors and passageways. The integrated iHomeManager Mini eliminates the need for a separate energy management system control box.
PowerKeeper and MiniCube Expand Sungrow’s Portfolio
Alongside PowerHarbor, Sungrow showcased PowerKeeper, its modular commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage solution.
PowerKeeper is designed to help businesses manage peak electricity demand within their existing grid connection. The system combines demand control with self-consumption and energy arbitrage, allowing businesses to increase energy use without necessarily requiring a larger grid connection.
Sungrow said PowerKeeper has already been deployed in projects in the UK and Italy.
The company also presented MiniCube, a compact energy storage solution targeting apartments, townhouses and other space-constrained homes. The plug-and-play system offers 3.68 kW of power output and 5–10 kWh of storage capacity.
Sungrow Targets Growing Residential Storage Demand
Sungrow said the Benelux residential energy market is increasingly shifting towards maximising the value of each kilowatt-hour generated by solar systems rather than focusing solely on generation volumes.
The company plans to continue working with installers, distribution partners and energy companies across the region as residential and commercial customers increasingly adopt integrated solar, storage and energy management solutions.
Sungrow currently supports its European operations through two R&D centres, seven warehouses and three training and technology competence centres, according to the company.
