Sungrow, a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage solutions, officially launched its next-generation commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage system — the PowerStack 255CS — at the Global Renewable Energy Summit (GRES) 2025. The new system is designed to set new benchmarks in energy efficiency, safety, and operational convenience, reinforcing Sungrow’s commitment to accelerating the global energy transition.

Meeting Rising Global C&I Storage Demand
With global policy support on the rise, the installed capacity of C&I energy storage is forecasted to reach 46 GWh by 2028. Sungrow’s PowerStack 255CS addresses the growing need for reliable, cost-effective, and scalable energy storage solutions for businesses aiming to reduce electricity costs, improve grid stability, and meet the surging demands of applications like EV charging.

Advanced Technology: Efficiency, Safety, and Intelligence
The PowerStack 255CS features 314Ah battery cells and offers configurations of 257kWh (2-hour) and 514kWh (4-hour) per unit. With a round-trip efficiency exceeding 90% and a product lifetime of up to 20 years, the system leverages Sungrow’s AC Block design and advanced liquid-cooling with AI-driven heat balance control—reducing auxiliary power usage by 33%.

In terms of safety, the system complies with key international certifications, including UL9540 and NFPA 855, and includes multi-layer protection measures: anomaly detection, overcurrent protection, early fire detection, and suppression systems—ensuring operational security from the cabinet to the pack level.

Ease of Integration and Scalability
Designed for deployment flexibility, the PowerStack 255CS integrates Energy Management System (EMS), Power Conversion System (PCS), and Battery Management System (BMS) in a unified architecture. Its pre-installed, pre-commissioned components enable rapid grid connection, and its scalable design supports up to 25 units in parallel—ranging from 257kWh to 6.4MWh.

Tailored for Versatile Applications
Sungrow has optimized the PowerStack 255CS for diverse energy scenarios:

  • Standalone Storage: Delivers ultra-fast 100ms response for frequency regulation and includes Sungrow’s grid-forming technology.
  • PV + Storage: Compatible with AC and DC coupling for higher solar power utilization.
  • EV Charging + Storage: Enables demand control and simplified site construction.
  • Microgrid Use: Provides 400V AC output without external transformers and supports seamless switching between PV, ESS, and diesel generators.

Global Deployment and Service Network
Sungrow’s C&I solutions are currently in use across 1,000+ global projects in industries like metallurgy, automotive, and textiles. The company maintains a strong presence across Europe, Australia, Japan, the Middle East, and Africa. With five global service regions and over 520 service outlets, Sungrow supports customers in more than 180 countries.

Available in IEC, UL, and AU versions, the PowerStack 255CS demonstrates Sungrow’s dedication to delivering reliable, forward-thinking energy solutions for a sustainable future.
