Germany’s WEH has rebranded as WEH FluidTech as it seeks to reposition itself from a connection technology specialist to a long-term engineering partner for hydrogen, industrial gas and other high-pressure fluid applications.
The company said the new identity reflects its ambition to broaden its role beyond supplying individual connection technologies and instead support customers throughout the lifecycle of high-pressure fluid systems, from application design and integration through to operation, maintenance and future development.
“For decades, we have been developing and delivering solutions for applications where absolute sealing and safety are critical,” said Rolf Kummer, Managing Director of WEH.
“Now we’re taking it a step further: We take a holistic approach to fluid technology as a long-term partnership spanning the entire lifecycle of an application.”
The move reflects a broader shift across industrial manufacturing, where equipment suppliers are increasingly looking to differentiate themselves through engineering expertise and long-term customer support rather than hardware alone.
Global services network Deloitte has identified lifecycle services and aftermarket support as an increasingly important source of competitive advantage for manufacturers, enabling companies to strengthen customer relationships while generating recurring revenue beyond the initial equipment sale.

Best known for its high-pressure couplings, quick connectors and refuelling systems, WEH said the FluidTech identity better reflects the breadth of its capabilities across hydrogen, industrial gases, alternative fuels and other demanding fluid handling applications.
The company develops solutions for operating pressures of up to 10,000 bar and serves customers across sectors where leak-tight performance and safety are critical.
WEH said the repositioning formalises an evolution that has been underway for decades, supported by more than 70 patents and innovations including its jaw locking mechanism and contributions to the NGV1 standard for compressed natural gas refuelling.
The company also highlighted more than 30 years of experience in hydrogen technologies, including components designed for hydrogen refuelling systems in line with international standards such as ISO 17268 and ISO 19880-1.
Kummer said the company’s new direction is about taking responsibility for the complete application rather than individual products.
“We don’t just look at the connection – we look at the entire application and the overarching process,” he said. “That enables us to develop solutions that are not only technically reliable, but also safe, efficient and intuitive to use.”
