SolarEdge Launches Smart 14a Compliant Energy Management Solution For German Homes At Intersolar Europe 2025

SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global leader in smart energy solutions, has announced the launch of its new ONE Controller for the German residential solar market. The product is now available for order and is designed to meet the requirements of Germany’s new §14a EnWG regulation, which facilitates the smart integration of controllable electrical loads by utilities. The SolarEdge ONE Controller will allow residential solar and storage systems to connect seamlessly with Germany’s Smart Meter system (iMSys), ensuring compliance with the updated regulatory framework.

The ONE Controller has been tested by EEBUS e.V. in its Living Lab in Cologne and confirmed to meet the necessary use cases outlined in §14a EnWG. In addition to ensuring regulatory compliance, the device will serve as a central interface for the SolarEdge Home ecosystem. It supports integration with a range of third-party electric vehicle (EV) chargers from manufacturers such as ABB, MENNEKES, and Wallbox, as well as heat pumps from Vaillant. It also offers compatibility with other heat pump brands through SG-ready functionality.

Christian Carraro, General Manager Europe, SolarEdge, said in a statement, “The ONE Controller offers residential installers in Germany a simple solution to a complex regulatory challenge, opening the market to smart integration of controllable loads. Grid Security Management requirements from grid operators are fulfilled, while homeowners can benefit from reduced energy bills through smarter energy management – a win-win for all.”

He further added, “We remain laser-focused on delivering added-value through technological innovation – whether that’s improving the economics of solar today or helping to future-proof our customers as the energy landscape shifts towards more dynamic electricity tariffs.”

This launch positions SolarEdge to further expand its presence in Germany by offering a smart, flexible solution that supports both homeowners and installers in transitioning to more intelligent, grid-interactive energy systems. Attendees of Intersolar 2025 can visit SolarEdge’s booth (Stand 110, Hall B4) for more details on the ONE Controller and its capabilities.
