IREDA Reports INR 891.75 Crore Half-Year Net Profit As Revenue Rises To INR 4,592 Crore In FY2027

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) reported growth in revenue, profitability and total assets for the half-year ended September 30, 2026, according to its standalone unaudited interim financial statements. The company’s joint statutory auditors, Shiv & Associates and MAPSS & Company, issued an unmodified audit opinion, stating that the financial statements presented a true and fair view of its financial position, financial performance, changes in equity and cash flows. The statements were prepared in accordance with Indian Accounting Standard 34 (Ind AS 34) and applicable Reserve Bank of India guidelines.

IREDA’s total operational revenue increased to ₹4,592.05 crore during the six-month period, compared with ₹4,004.17 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Interest income remained the primary contributor to revenue, rising to ₹4,514.77 crore from ₹3,938.89 crore a year earlier. The increase reflects the expansion of the company’s lending operations and its growing loan portfolio.

The company’s profit before tax reached ₹1,119.28 crore for the half-year, compared with ₹1,000.70 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net profit after tax stood at ₹891.75 crore. Meanwhile, total comprehensive income was reported at ₹705.30 crore after accounting for adjustments in other comprehensive income. Basic and diluted earnings per share increased to ₹3.17, compared with ₹2.88 in the previous corresponding period.

IREDA also recorded growth in its balance sheet, with total assets reaching ₹97,985.76 crore as of September 30, 2026, against ₹85,258.22 crore as of September 30, 2025. Net loan assets, which form the largest component of its assets, increased to ₹93,961.30 crore from ₹82,012.15 crore over the same period. The expansion highlights the company’s continued lending activity in the renewable energy sector.

On the liabilities side, borrowings stood at ₹47,702.86 crore, while debt securities amounted to ₹29,922.03 crore. Total equity increased to ₹14,337.40 crore, comprising paid-up equity share capital of ₹2,809.23 crore and other equity of ₹11,528.17 crore.

The auditors also highlighted certain matters concerning the classification of loan accounts. Under interim court directions, loan accounts aggregating ₹386.76 crore were classified as Stage II or standard assets instead of Stage III or non-performing assets. However, IREDA recognised interest income on these accounts only when collected and maintained impairment allowances against potential losses.

Additionally, the company made Expected Credit Loss provisions under Ind AS 109 based on an independent evaluation report. These disclosures provide information about the company’s approach to loan classification and credit risk management.

Overall, IREDA’s half-year results indicate higher revenue, improved profitability and an expanding loan portfolio, alongside continued attention to credit risk assessment and financial reporting requirements.
