The Solar Week Kenya 2025 Concludes Successfully in Nairobi, Spotlighting Innovation, Leadership, and the Future of Solar Energy

The Solar Week Kenya 2025, held on April 10 at the Emara Hotel Ole Sereni, Nairobi – Kenya, , concluded with resounding success, marking a pivotal milestone in Kenya’s renewable energy journey. The 4th edition brought together an influential gathering of solar and clean energy stakeholders—developers, EPC companies, policymakers, financiers, and technology innovators—for a day packed with high-impact discussions, product showcases, and strategic networking.

The conference floor was abuzz with energy as leading players unveiled breakthrough technologies and smart solutions for solar power generation, grid integration, storage, and sustainability. From hybrid PV-ESS systems to regulatory insights and investment frameworks, attendees were treated to a comprehensive outlook on the future of solar in East Africa.

One of the defining highlights of the day was the engaging series of panel discussions and interactive workshops, which covered topics such as financing and investment, policy frameworks, storage technologies, and climate transition strategies—offering attendees actionable insights and a roadmap for scaling solar adoption across Kenya and beyond.

Mr. Wesley Kipyego, Assistant Director – Renewable Energy, Ministry of Energy, served as the Chief Guest and provided critical insights into the government’s roadmap to meet Kenya’s 2040 goal of 100 GW renewable capacity. Joining him as Chief Guest was Boniface Kinyanjui, Deputy Director – Electricity, Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), who reinforced the regulatory body’s support for solar expansion and innovation.

The event also welcomed two Guests of Honour: Peter Njenga, Managing Director & CEO – KenGen, and Isaac Mainye Mariera, Director – Environment & Natural Resources, County Government of Nyamira.
