Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has reported record-breaking rooftop solar growth in Q1 FY26. The company completed 45,589 rooftop solar installations during the quarter—a 416% year-on-year increase from 8,838 installations in Q1 FY25.

This performance brings TPREL’s total rooftop solar installations across India to over 2,04,000, with a cumulative capacity exceeding 3.4 GW. The milestone reflects the company’s significant contribution to India’s renewable energy goals and its leadership in decentralised solar deployment.

TPREL’s growth aligns with national targets, including the government’s aim of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. The company’s efforts are also closely tied to the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, advancing solar adoption through its Ghar Ghar Solar campaign.

With a network of 604 channel partners across 400+ cities and 240 authorized service partners in 560 cities, TPREL has built a robust national service presence. Its customer base now exceeds 2 lakh, including over 1.8 lakh residential users.

In addition to rooftop installations, TPREL is expanding its role in domestic solar manufacturing, with 4.3 GW of cell and module production capacity in India. This integrated approach supports the country’s clean energy ambitions through both large-scale deployment and manufacturing self-reliance.
