Canadian Solar Partners with Sunraycer on 2 Texas Energy Projects and 2 GWp Solar Module Deal

Canadian Solar Inc. announced the execution of three major agreements with Sunraycer Renewables LLC, a renewable energy platform based in Annapolis, Maryland. The agreements include battery energy storage supply and commissioning for two projects in Texas and the purchase of up to 2 GWp of high-efficiency solar modules for various Sunraycer projects.

As part of the agreements, Canadian Solar’s subsidiary, e-STORAGE, which focuses on battery energy storage system design, manufacturing, and integration, will deliver 188 MWh DC for the Gaia project in Navarro County and 127 MWh DC for the Midpoint project in Hill County. Both projects are slated for commissioning in the third quarter of 2025.

The two Texas storage projects will utilize over 60 SolBank 3.0 battery containers, e-STORAGE’s latest proprietary energy storage solution. SolBank 3.0 features high-density lithium-iron-phosphate cells, an advanced battery management system, and liquid cooling for thermal management, ensuring durability, reliability, and safety in the challenging Texas climate.

Sunraycer’s upcoming projects will incorporate up to 2 GWp of Canadian Solar’s latest high-efficiency solar modules, delivering power outputs of up to 725 Wp. These modules offer up to 85% bifaciality, 23.3% efficiency, low power degradation, and high energy yield, significantly reducing both the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and overall system costs.
