Kerala Engineering College Invites Tender For Green Hydrogen Research Equipment

Government Engineering College, Thrissur, operating under the Technical Education Department of the Government of Kerala, has invited online competitive e-tenders for the supply of specialized scientific and laboratory equipment required for an advanced research project titled “Modified Microbial Electrolysis for Green Hydrogen Production”. The procurement aims to support research activities focused on microbial electrolysis and green hydrogen production using electrochemical technologies.

Eligible manufacturers, authorized dealers, and authorized distributors can participate in the tender process by submitting their bids through the official Kerala Government e-Tender Portal. The procurement covers a range of specialized equipment and materials required for conducting electrochemical experiments and hydrogen production research.

The list of required items includes a 100 ml H-type cell setup, a single-chamber electrochemical glass cell, cylindrical graphite electrode rods, high-purity graphite sheet electrodes, and high-purity graphite powder. The tender also specifies the supply of platinum plate electrodes with 99.99% purity and nickel sheet electrodes. Other requirements include a mechanical stirrer with an adjustable speed range, a five- or six-digit digital multimeter, saturated calomel reference electrodes, Nafion membranes, and charged porous ceramic pots for ionic transport.

According to the tender schedule, the last date for online bid submission is November 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The technical bids are scheduled to open on November 6, 2026, at 11:00 PM. Bidders must ensure that their submissions are completed within the prescribed deadline. The submitted bids will remain valid for 180 days from the date of opening.

The tender fee has been fixed at ₹472, including a base amount of ₹400 and 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST). The required Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is ₹1,517. Both payments must be made exclusively through the official Kerala Government e-Tender system. The tender document does not specify a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amount.

Participants must upload a preliminary agreement executed on Kerala Stamp Paper worth ₹220. Other mandatory documents include technical catalogues, compliance statements, authorization certificates, and evidence of previous experience supplying similar equipment to government departments, engineering colleges, universities, or research institutions.

The quoted prices must cover all applicable costs, including GST, packing, forwarding, freight, insurance, loading, unloading, installation, commissioning, demonstration, and other incidental expenses. The successful bidder will be required to complete delivery within 60 days from the issuance of the Supply Order.

Payment will be released only after the equipment has been supplied, installed, tested, commissioned, and formally accepted by the institution. The Principal of Government Engineering College, Thrissur, retains the right to accept or reject any or all bids without assigning reasons.
