Jinko ESS to Supply 5MWh Liquid-Cooled BESS for Norton Gold Fields’ Mine in Western Australia

Recently, Global leading energy storage company, JinkoESS, a subsidiary corporation of Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., has partnered with Sunterra, a renowned West Australian and national EPC Renewable Specialist, to deploy its G2 5MWh liquid-cooled containerised storage system. The project will be installed at the Binduli Gold Operations Centre, operated by Norton Gold Fields Pty Ltd. The system will be integrated into the mine’s existing renewable energy infrastructure and is expected to be delivered in late 2025 and come online in early 2026.

Mr Chris Chen, CTO for Sunterra stated “we are very proud and delighted to partner with Jinko ESS and be the first company in Western Australia to deploy their impressive G2 Liquid Cooled 5MWh Energy Storage Solution to the Binduli Gold micro-grid. The Jinko local presence in WA and overall Australian expertise in engineering and commissioning works in projects such as these, was a decisive factor for us and the client”

“We are thrilled to partner with Sunterra to enter Western Australia’s vital mining sector,” said Bright Wang, General Manager of Jinko ESS APAC. “Mining operations demand the highest standards of energy reliability and safety. Our Utility-scale G2 BESS is engineered for the high reliability and safety demanded by remote mining operations. This project is a testament to our commitment to empowering Australia’s resource industries as they build more efficient and resilient energy systems for the future.”
