JA, a global leader in photovoltaic products and integrated energy solutions, is expanding its European commercial and industrial (C&I) battery energy storage offering with the launch of JAPlanet Fusion and JAPlanet 2.0.
JAPlanet Fusion introduces a DC-coupled hybrid solar and storage solution that integrates an inverter, battery storage and backup functionality into a single system. Alongside it, JAPlanet 2.0 represents the latest generation of JA’s established AC-coupled C&I battery energy storage system, bringing higher efficiency, advanced thermal management and enhanced O&M capabilities to the JAPlanet platform.
Both systems are designed to give C&I customers and project partners greater flexibility in configuring storage around different site, grid and operational requirements.
JAPlanet Fusion: integrated solar, storage and backup
JAPlanet Fusion integrates an inverter, battery storage and backup functionality into a single coordinated system, simplifying system design, installation and commissioning. Using integrated components reduces system interfaces and cabling, lowers space requirements and can reduce the risk of compatibility issues between separately sourced equipment.
The system features a 261-kWh battery cabinet with a rated power of 125 kW. Its modular architecture supports up to 10 units in parallel for on-grid applications and up to six units in off-grid mode, enabling system capacity to be scaled to project requirements.
JAPlanet Fusion is particularly suited to solar repowering projects. The system can accommodate PV input of up to 250 kWp, enabling additional solar capacity to be installed on the DC side, to 20 strings and 10 MPP trackers, while keeping AC output within the site’s permitted grid power limit. For asset owners, this creates an opportunity to extract more value from existing solar installations and grid connections while adding energy storage and greater operational resilience. It will also simplify operations with distribution system operators (DSOs), reducing the complexity and timescales associated with projects that would otherwise require an increase in grid export capacity.
For backup applications, an integrated static transfer switch (STS) detects grid failure and transfers the system to off-grid operation within 10 milliseconds, supporting continuity for critical loads.
The system also incorporates liquid cooling, continuous temperature, smoke and gas monitoring, integrated aerosol fire suppression and dual-channel redundant ventilation compliant with NFPA 69. JAPlanet Fusion has also been validated through UL 9540A testing at the system level.

JAPlanet 2.0: latest-generation AC-coupled BESS
Alongside JAPlanet Fusion, JAPlanet 2.0 brings the latest generation of JA’s AC-coupled C&I battery energy storage technology to Europe.
The 261 kWh system delivers maximum round-trip efficiency of over 90% and can operate without derating at ambient temperatures up to 50°C. Its intelligent thermal management system reduces auxiliary power consumption by 20% compared with conventional systems, improving system efficiency while supporting operation across a wide range of environmental conditions.
Advanced product safety is ensured through cell level monitoring but also UL9540A certification for the whole battery product. The JAPlanet 2.0 is equipped with JANebula, a new integrated energy management system (EMS) for multi-use applications like time-of-use (kWh), peak-shaving (kW) or increased PV self-consumption, which is in line with EU Regulations on product safety and security.
JAPlanet Fusion and JAPlanet 2.0 will be available for pre-order in Europe from the second half of September 2026, with the first JAPlanet Fusion deliveries planned for the end of Q4 2026.
