ReNew Energy Global Plc, India’s leading provider of decarbonization and clean energy solutions, has achieved an exceptional score of 83 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA)—the highest score ever received by an India-based energy company. This remarkable performance places ReNew among the top 10% of energy companies worldwide and in the 93rd percentile globally, as of October 27, 2025, with 54% of 239 energy companies assessed. The S&P Global CSA is one of the most respected global benchmarks for evaluating a company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance across key areas such as climate strategy, corporate governance, ethics, cybersecurity, workforce development, and transparency.

This recognition marks a historic milestone for ReNew, highlighting its leadership as a global sustainability pioneer that continues to drive the energy transition across India and other emerging markets. It is also the first time an Indian energy company has surpassed the 80-point mark in the S&P Global CSA, underscoring ReNew’s commitment to embedding sustainability deeply within its business strategy.

The company’s overall score represents an improvement of nearly 14% compared to last year and an impressive 102% increase since its FY22 debut assessment. ReNew’s progress spans all three ESG pillars, with major advances in the Social (~27%) and Governance (~23%) categories, along with a 6% rise in the Environmental category. These improvements reflect the company’s integrated approach to sustainability, balancing environmental responsibility with social and ethical excellence.

Commenting on this achievement, Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder and Chairperson – Sustainability, ReNew, said, “This recognition reinforces the trust that investors and stakeholders have placed in ReNew’s long-term vision. It is a testament to the growing maturity of sustainability practices within India’s energy sector, where companies are aligning environmental ambition with economic opportunity. At ReNew, sustainability is not peripheral—it is central to how we unlock value, drive efficiency, and grow responsibly. As the industry continues to evolve, we remain committed to setting benchmarks that reflect transparency, inclusion, and long-term impact.”

In FY25, ReNew generated over 22 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity, helping avoid more than 18.6 million tonnes of carbon emissions. The company achieved an 18.2% reduction in its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to its FY22 baseline, exceeding its annual reduction target. Notably, ReNew has maintained carbon neutrality for the fifth consecutive year, sourcing 76% of its electricity from renewable sources—well ahead of its 2025 target of 50%.

ReNew also made significant progress in other sustainability dimensions. The company enhanced its water stewardship efforts by saving over 540 million litres of water, marking a 50% increase from the previous year, and continues to advance toward its goal of becoming water-positive by 2030. On diversity and inclusion, ReNew achieved a 16% overall gender diversity rate, with women representing 40% of its board, 12% of its STEM workforce, and 17% of management positions.

Beyond operational performance, ReNew’s social initiatives have made a tangible impact, positively affecting the lives of over 1.7 million people through community development, education, and empowerment programs. This latest recognition not only underscores ReNew’s global standing in sustainability leadership but also reaffirms its role as a catalyst for India’s clean energy transformation. Through consistent performance, transparent governance, and forward-thinking ESG practices, ReNew continues to set new standards for responsible growth and long-term environmental stewardship in the global energy sector.
