The University of Arkansas has opened a multi-user silicon carbide facility to support semiconductor and power electronics technology production.
Believed to be the only openly accessible facility of its kind in the US, the site features an eight-bay cleanroom expandable to ten bays, making it one of the nation’s most advanced silicon carbide research and prototyping centers.
The 22,000 sq ft site is designed to accommodate both small-scale prototyping and early-stage production runs, providing shared access to equipment and processes.
Silicon carbide is a critical strategic material for next-generation energy, transportation, data centres and aerospace systems.
