Tata Power Solaroof, India’s leading and most trusted rooftop solar solutions provider and a division of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has achieved a major milestone by installing 1 GWp of rooftop solar capacity within the first nine months of FY26. This growth spans both the residential and the commercial and industrial (C&I) segments, reflecting strong customer confidence and the company’s growing contribution to India’s clean energy transition. During this period, Tata Power Solaroof added more than 1.7 lakh installations, marking a significant 345 percent year-on-year increase compared with 38,494 installations completed in the same period of FY25.

In the same nine-month period, the company onboarded 1.7 lakh new customers across residential, C&I rooftop, and ground-mounted solar solutions, taking its total customer base to over 3 lakh and its cumulative installed capacity to more than 4 GWp. Tata Power Solaroof also recorded its highest-ever quarterly performance between October and December 2025, completing 58,476 rooftop installations. This represents 242 percent growth over the 17,092 installations completed in Q3 FY25.

Across states, TPREL achieved its highest number of rooftop solar installations in Uttar Pradesh, with 30,857 installations totaling 128.13 MWp. Maharashtra followed with 21,044 installations and 126.33 MWp of capacity. Gujarat contributed 18,907 installations and delivered the highest installed capacity among all states at 143.02 MWp. Telangana recorded 14,622 installations with a combined capacity of 62.08 MWp.

Geographically, Tata Power Solaroof’s broader growth was driven by strong performance in several key states. Maharashtra led in cumulative contribution with 41,827 installations amounting to 855.21 MWp. Gujarat followed with 31,624 installations totaling 525.81 MWp. Tamil Nadu added 8,633 installations with 318.35 MWp of capacity, while Chhattisgarh completed 8,068 installations amounting to 285.62 MWp. These results highlight TPREL’s robust execution capabilities, widespread pan-India presence, and consistent growth across major rooftop solar markets.

TPREL has been ranked as India’s No. 1 rooftop solar player for ten consecutive years, according to BTI Research (CRISIL). By expanding rooftop solar deployment, Tata Power Solaroof is playing a central role in advancing the Government of India’s vision to accelerate solar adoption under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. Through Tata Power’s Ghar Ghar Solar campaign, the company is raising awareness and supporting widespread household adoption of rooftop solar across the country. The initiative aims to provide consumers with clean, affordable energy, supporting India’s broader push toward sustainable growth and energy independence.

Tata Power Solaroof has built a strong and diverse presence across residential, commercial, and industrial markets, enabling widespread access to rooftop solar solutions. The company offers an end-to-end value proposition that includes high-performance solar modules backed by a 25-year performance warranty, flexible financing options, insurance coverage, and reliable after-sales service. This integrated offering enables customers to transition confidently to cleaner, more resilient energy systems.

Supported by more than 650 channel partners across India, Tata Power Solaroof continues to scale consistently and expand rooftop solar adoption nationwide. Through its growing portfolio and national reach, TPREL continues to contribute significantly to India’s clean energy goals, including the target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030 and progressing toward net-zero emissions by 2070.
