Moeve and Pretium Renovables target six biomethane plants in Spain

Multinational energy firm Moeve has signed an agreement with developer Pretium Renovables to develop up to six biomethane plants in Spain, each with an estimated capacity of 60 GWh per year.

Moeve plans to develop the facilities in different regions, with Andalusia as the priority. Each plant will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 14,600 tonnes per year.

Adrien Souchet, Director of Biomethane at Moeve, said, “Working with specialised partners will allow us to accelerate the rollout of this renewable gas and will also facilitate the implementation of decarbonisation projects in high potential regions.”

Laureano Parrilla, Director of Pretium Renovables, said the tie-up cements its position as a prominent biomethane project developer in Spain.
