Pivot Energy, a leading national renewable energy provider and independent power producer, announced the completion of three community solar projects in Illinois—located in Peoria, Dover, and Ottawa—totaling 13.475 megawatts (MWac). The projects mark a milestone in the company’s ongoing partnership with Tapestry, Inc. , a global lifestyle brand house that includes Coach and Kate Spade.

The three solar installations are part of a five-project portfolio in Illinois under a 15-year agreement in which Tapestry purchases Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) produced by the projects. The completed projects are expected to generate more than 23,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy annually, enough to power approximately 2,500 Illinois households. Construction for the remaining two projects in the portfolio is scheduled to be completed by 2030.

Community Investments and Workforce Development

Pivot Energy emphasized its commitment to supporting local communities through the partnership. Across the five projects, the company has pledged over $115,000 to fund local initiatives, with nearly $65,000 already donated to Illinois Central College (ICC) and HIRE360. These funds are earmarked for workforce training programs that aim to expand access to solar careers in the state.

Jay Rowell, Executive Director of HIRE360, highlighted the impact: “Pivot Energy’s support helps advance workforce pathways into the solar industry, focusing on transitioning workers from fossil fuel trades and empowering underrepresented groups, including minorities and women.”

Dr. Sheila Quirk-Bailey, President of Illinois Central College, added, “Pivot Energy’s partnership empowers our students with the knowledge and tools needed to lead the way in renewable energy, building a brighter, greener future for our community.”

Supporting Tapestry’s Global Renewable Energy Goals

The community solar projects reinforce Tapestry’s global sustainability strategy. In December 2025, the company announced it had achieved 100% renewable electricity across its stores, offices, and fulfillment centers worldwide. The partnership with Pivot Energy further strengthens Tapestry’s commitment to low-carbon operations by adding new clean energy capacity to the grid.

Logan Duran, Global Head of ESG & Sustainability at Tapestry, said, “These Illinois solar projects mark a significant milestone in our renewable energy strategy. Pivot Energy has been instrumental in helping us achieve 100% renewable electricity across our operations, supporting our science-based climate targets.”

Liz Reddington, Vice President of Development at Pivot Energy, stated, “Our partnership with Tapestry demonstrates how companies can advance renewable energy solutions while providing meaningful support to local communities for workforce development, education, and beyond.”

Pivot Energy continues to focus on delivering accessible, affordable renewable energy while positively impacting local communities. The projects underscore the role of community solar in driving sustainability, economic opportunity, and clean energy adoption in the United States.
