Saudi Electricity Company has officially launched a new corporate identity and announced its rebranding as Saudi Energy (SE), marking a strategic shift that reflects its expanding role within the Kingdom’s evolving energy ecosystem.
The move aligns with the structural transformation underway in Saudi Arabia’s energy sector and supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The company said the rebranding underscores its commitment to enhancing energy supply security and strengthening grid reliability across the Kingdom.
Chief Executive Officer Eng. Khalid Al-Ghamdi stated that the transformation builds on financial, regulatory and structural reforms introduced in the electricity sector since 2020 under the Ministerial Committee for the Restructuring of the Electricity Sector. The committee is chaired by Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Al-Ghamdi emphasized that the new identity represents an evolution in the company’s role and responsibilities rather than a departure from its core business. He noted that the rebranding marks a new chapter rooted in the company’s legacy while reinforcing a modern institutional image focused on trust, sustainability and future readiness.
According to the company, the renaming to Saudi Energy reflects its broader role in the national energy ecosystem, including the development and execution of energy storage projects and systems. The company highlighted its efforts to enhance sector reliability and efficiency through optimizing the electricity generation mix, reducing reliance on liquid fuels, modernizing and automating transmission and distribution networks, and advancing localization and investment initiatives.
Saudi Energy also reaffirmed its pivotal role in enabling electrical infrastructure, integrating diverse energy sources and strengthening system stability to ensure long-term energy security. The transformation will continue under the existing regulatory framework governing its licensed activities across generation, transmission, distribution and storage, ensuring operational continuity and governance stability.
Under its new identity, the company said it is placing customer centricity at the core of its strategy, introducing the corporate promise, “Around you, for you.” It aims to enhance service quality, expand digital engagement channels and respond effectively to the needs of residential, commercial and industrial customers.
The company added that the rebranding aligns its operations with international best practices in managing energy networks and critical infrastructure, reinforcing its role in supporting the Kingdom’s ambition to position itself as a global energy hub.
