California’s recent hydrogen refuelling disruption has exposed critical vulnerabilities in the state’s mobility model.
Since late February, fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) drivers have struggled to refuel amid disruptions in gaseous supply. In March, the state’s 52-station refuelling network saw uptime fall to , and at times, only a remained operational.
In April, the trade body the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership (H2FCP) warned the pinch could drag on.
