B.Grimm Power and AMATA Corporation are advancing a 42.5 MWp floating solar power project at Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The project is being developed through Amata B.Grimm Renewable Energy Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Amata U Co., Ltd. and B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd.
The project involves an investment of approximately THB 1.2 billion and will be installed on existing reservoir space within the industrial estate. By using water-based infrastructure, the development will not require additional land, supporting efficient use of available resources within the industrial zone.
Once operational, the floating solar facility is expected to contribute to the growing renewable energy requirements of businesses and investors operating in the EEC. The project is also estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 29,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent annually.
The collaboration brings together the renewable energy and industrial estate capabilities of B.Grimm Power and AMATA Corporation. The project is supported by senior representatives from both companies, including Satha Vanlabhpatana, Chairman of Amata B.Grimm Renewable Energy and Chief Strategy Officer of Amata Corporation; Saroch Arunpairojkul, Executive Vice President – Industrial Customer Relations and Operation Management at B.Grimm Power; and Chawalit Tippawanich, Chief Executive Officer of Amata U Co., Ltd.
The development forms part of B.Grimm Power’s GreenLeap – Global and Green strategy and supports its target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The companies are continuing to expand renewable energy solutions to support cleaner and more sustainable industrial development in Thailand.
