NTPC REL Invites Bids For Spare Inverter For 200 MW Gujarat-I Solar Project

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a group company of NTPC Limited, has invited bids for the procurement of one spare inverter for its 200 MW Gujarat-I Solar PV Project. The tender aims to procure essential equipment for the solar power project and has been issued under Bidding Document No. NREL-CS-9900331958. Eligible vendors can participate in the tender through NTPC’s official electronic procurement platform, subject to the prescribed technical, commercial, and eligibility requirements.

The tender follows a Single Stage Composite Bidding system, under which bidders are required to submit their techno-commercial and price bids as part of the bidding process. The procurement scope is limited to one spare inverter intended for the 200 MW Gujarat-I Solar PV Project. The detailed technical specifications, equipment requirements, commercial terms, and other contractual conditions are available in the comprehensive bidding documents published on the official eProcurement portal.

Interested bidders must access the tender documents, submit queries and complete their bid submissions through NTPC’s official eProcurement. The portal will provide the applicable bidding schedule, including the deadline for submitting bidder queries, the final bid submission date and the scheduled opening of techno-commercial bids. Any corrigendum, amendment or extension to the tender schedule will also be published on the same platform.

According to the Notice Inviting Tender, the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) or bid security is not applicable. The tender fee is also not applicable, reducing the upfront financial requirements associated with participation. However, bidders must carefully review the detailed bidding documents to understand all applicable contractual obligations, financial conditions, and technical requirements. The brief notice does not specify a separate Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amount, with the relevant provisions available in the comprehensive tender documents.

NTPC REL has also indicated that benefits applicable to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) will be available under the tender, in accordance with the provisions specified in the bidding documents. However, participation is restricted to Class I local suppliers under the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, 2017, along with subsequent revisions issued by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Bidders must satisfy the applicable local content and supplier classification requirements.

Additional restrictions apply to bidders from countries sharing a land border with India. Such bidders, as well as entities covered by specified technology transfer arrangements involving these countries, must comply with the applicable registration requirements established by the designated Competent Authority. The prescribed government exemptions will apply wherever relevant under the applicable rules.

NTPC REL has made acceptance of mandatory General Technical Evaluation (GTE) conditions essential for participation. Bidders must accept the NTPC Fraud Prevention Policy and submit a NIL Deviation Certificate confirming compliance with the bidding provisions without deviations. Failure to accept these mandatory conditions may lead to rejection of the bid without further evaluation.

The tender provides an opportunity for eligible domestic suppliers to participate in the procurement of spare equipment for NTPC REL’s solar power infrastructure. Interested vendors should review the complete bidding documents and monitor the official eProcurement portal for submission deadlines, technical requirements, and subsequent updates before participating.
