Tata Power-DDL to Hold National Lok Adalat on October 25 for Electricity Theft Case Settlements

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) will participate in the National Lok Adalat on Sunday, October 25, 2026, to facilitate the on-the-spot settlement of electricity theft cases in North Delhi. The initiative is being organised in association with the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) to provide consumers with an opportunity to resolve disputed electricity theft bills through an amicable settlement.

The National Lok Adalat will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Permanent Lok Adalat-I (PLA-I), located at Sub-station Building 2/13, Sector-13, Rohini, Delhi – 110085, near Venkateshwar Global School. Consumers with pending electricity theft cases can visit the venue to discuss their cases and explore settlement options.

Tata Power-DDL has requested interested consumers to register for the proceedings by calling its helpline number 19124 or sending an email to eac.care@tatapower-ddl.com. Consumers who register in advance must carry a valid photo identification document and a copy of their electricity theft bill when attending the Lok Adalat.

Consumers who wish to settle their disputed bills can also approach Permanent Lok Adalat-I directly without prior registration. Walk-in applicants must carry their Aadhaar card and a copy of the electricity theft bill to participate in the settlement process.

The National Lok Adalat is intended to provide an accessible platform for resolving electricity theft-related disputes without requiring consumers to pursue prolonged legal proceedings. Through this initiative, Tata Power-DDL aims to help eligible consumers address their pending cases and settle disputed amounts through a mutually acceptable process.

The company has also cautioned consumers who do not take advantage of the settlement opportunity that they may face criminal and/or civil proceedings under the applicable provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, and Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) regulations. These proceedings may be initiated by Tata Power-DDL in accordance with the relevant legal and regulatory framework.

To facilitate payments during the settlement process, the company will accept multiple payment methods, including demand drafts, cheques, credit cards, debit cards, cash and various online payment options. The availability of different payment channels is intended to make it easier for consumers to complete the settlement process.

Tata Power-DDL is undertaking an awareness campaign to encourage consumer participation in the National Lok Adalat. The company is reaching out to customers through social media platforms, SMS notifications, telephone calls and banners to inform them about the event, registration process and required documents.

Tata Power-DDL supplies electricity to approximately nine million people in North Delhi. Its participation in the National Lok Adalat forms part of its efforts to facilitate the resolution of electricity theft cases and provide consumers with an opportunity to settle outstanding disputes through a structured legal mechanism.
