Hartek Power Secures INR 200 Crore Contract for 80 MW Solar EPC Project in Uttar Pradesh

Hartek Power has secured an 80 MW turnkey solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project worth approximately ₹200 crore from a leading steel manufacturer. The project will be developed in Uttar Pradesh to support the manufacturer’s captive power consumption and increase the use of renewable energy in its industrial operations. The company is expected to complete the project by December 31, 2026.

Under the contract, Hartek Power will be responsible for the complete execution of the solar project, covering engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning. The scope of work also includes the supply of essential equipment, such as solar modules, inverters, power transformers, and inverter duty transformers (IDTs). The turnkey arrangement will enable the company to manage the project from the engineering stage through final commissioning.

The project is part of the growing adoption of renewable energy by commercial and industrial consumers seeking to improve energy efficiency, manage electricity costs and reduce their dependence on conventional power sources. Energy-intensive industries, including steel manufacturing, require substantial amounts of electricity to support their operations. Captive solar power can help such industries integrate clean energy into their energy mix while supporting their long-term sustainability targets.

Commenting on the project award, Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hartek Power, said that the increasing use of renewable energy by energy-intensive industries reflects a broader shift towards cleaner and more efficient power solutions. He added that the company’s commercial and industrial renewable energy business is working with large industrial customers across India to support their decarbonisation plans and net-zero ambitions.

Singh said the company was pleased to receive the 80 MW project and noted that the contract further strengthens its position in delivering integrated solar EPC solutions for industrial customers. He also highlighted the importance of combining engineering expertise, reliable equipment supply and execution capabilities to help industries transition towards cleaner and more resilient energy systems.

Hartek Power operates across power systems, solar EPC and rooftop solar, providing solutions for utility-scale and industrial renewable energy projects. Its capabilities cover design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and associated electrical infrastructure.

The company has connected more than 10 GW of solar capacity to the national grid and has executed renewable energy projects across multiple states. Its experience in solar power development and electrical infrastructure supports its efforts to serve the evolving energy requirements of industrial and commercial customers.

The latest contract adds to Hartek Power’s project portfolio and strengthens its presence in India’s commercial and industrial renewable energy segment. As businesses increasingly explore captive renewable power to improve energy security and meet sustainability commitments, projects such as this are expected to contribute to the wider adoption of solar energy in industrial operations.
