The budget for the financial year 2025-26 aims to support Uttar Pradesh in achieving its goal of becoming a 1-trillion-dollar economy while also promoting non-conventional energy sources. As part of this initiative, a 500 MW solar power project will be established in Jalaun, and a 200 MW solar energy project will be set up in Garautha, Jhansi.

The Minister for Urban Development and Energy of Uttar Pradesh, Shri A.K. Sharma, emphasized that the budget will serve as a milestone for the overall development of the state. He highlighted its significance in strengthening the state’s economic position and contributing to national growth. Presented in the Legislative Assembly by the Hon’ble Finance Minister, the budget has been designed as a comprehensive and inclusive financial plan aimed at benefiting the poor, farmers, youth, and women. It reflects the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble Chief Minister by prioritizing underprivileged communities and reinforcing India’s cultural and economic foundation.

A total budget of ₹8,08,736.06 crore has been proposed for the upcoming financial year. In the energy sector, ₹50 crore has been allocated to promote non-conventional energy sources, including the establishment of a pumped storage hydroelectric project. Significant allocations have also been made for urban development. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), ₹4,882 crore has been set aside to provide housing for the urban poor. The AMRUT 2.0 scheme has received an allocation of ₹4,100 crore. Additionally, ₹800 crore has been earmarked for the Mukhyamantri Green Road Infrastructure Development Scheme (Urban).
