Catalyze Strengthens Clean Energy Portfolio With 48 MW New York Solar Acquisition From Hep Solar

Catalyze, a fully integrated developer and Independent Power Producer (IPP) of distributed renewable energy assets, has announced the acquisition of 48 megawatts (MWdc) of fully developed community solar projects in New York. The portfolio, purchased from hep solar—a global solar development and investment firm based in Germany—consists of eight projects located within National Grid’s Load Zone A in upstate New York.

These projects are in the final stages of development and are expected to be ready for construction soon, with commercial operation targeted for 2026. Once operational, they will support New York’s clean energy targets and extend the benefits of community solar to local residents. The acquired portfolio includes two projects in Ashville totaling 11.78 MWdc, two in Corfu totaling 13.32 MWdc, one in Brockport at 5.96 MWdc, two in Portland totaling 10.41 MWdc, and one project in Dunkirk at 6.24 MWdc. All eight projects are slated to participate in the NYSERDA NY-Sun MW Block Program, which offers financial incentives to advance solar energy development across the state.

Jared Haines, CEO of Catalyze, mentioned, “These projects represent a significant step forward in our mission to expand access to renewable energy in New York. Community solar empowers residents – including renters and those without access to rooftop solar – to participate in and benefit from the clean energy transition. We’re excited to build on our momentum in New York and bring these impactful projects to life.”

Georg von Eichendorff Strachwitz, Executive Board Member of hep solar, said in a statement, “We’re proud to contribute to New York’s clean energy supply through our US project development. This transaction shows on the one hand the value created by hep solar and on the other hand ensures the successful delivery of these community solar projects by a strong and experienced partner like Catalyze. At hep solar, we’re focused on developing and investing in renewable energy projects that create meaningful impact, and Catalyze shares that vision. We look forward to seeing these projects support local communities and contribute to New York’s clean energy future.”

Once online, the solar farms will generate clean energy for thousands of New Yorkers, helping lower energy bills while promoting energy equity and strengthening grid reliability. This acquisition marks a significant step in Catalyze’s strategic expansion in New York and highlights the company’s broader commitment to accelerating community solar deployment across the United States. Catalyze is also exploring future collaboration with hep solar as part of an ongoing relationship between the two companies.
